I’ve recently started sharing some of my everyday products with you guys on Instagram, and am getting some great feedback! Some of you use the same beauty products I do, which is really awesome. I’m kind of a tomboy in the fact that I don’t spend a lot of time on my makeup at all. Whatever I can slap on my face and walk out of the door with without looking like a crazy person works for me. My goal is to appear as though I have gotten plenty of sleep, adequate caffeine intake, and I will not bite you if you dare approach me to inform me that my son has knocked all of the bubble gum off the corner display at Target. Again. I’m not sure what his deal is, but he loves to swipe everything off the shelf when he gets the chance.
Anyways, rant over. I wanted to share what’s in my beauty product arsenal since I’ve seen an interest. I’ve narrowed my everyday makeup to about 10 or so items for you guys! Some days I have that extra 2-3 minutes and I can apply some more of this or that, but for the most part I do whatever I can to just get by looking normal ;).

This is my all-time secret weapon. When I had 4 kids running around the house – things got crazy. I lacked the time to shower every day (although I drew the line at 3 days….there’s only so much dry shampoo can do!), and I needed a quick fix for my greasy roots in between showers. Dry Shampoo is a lifesaver for busy moms! If you haven’t heard of it, or are nervous to try it – don’t be! It’s truly incredible. You simply shake the bottle, spray it onto your roots, wait 2-3 minutes, and massage your roots. This one is my FAVORITE DRY SHAMPOO. I’ve tried a few others, but always go back to Batiste. Sometimes, when I’m lucky, I have found HUGE cans of it at Marshall’s for the same price as a regular size can at Target. 😉
*Note: too much of a good thing is a bad thing in this scenario. Don’t spray your hair too much (your hair will end up looking gray or white!
I use CoverGirl’s Volume Mascara (the orange tube). I go overboard and put like 4 coats on! It’s kind of amazing for my already-long lashes.
I love Elf’s Liquid Eyeliner! It’s $2 at Target or CVS, and I can always grab it in a pinch when I run out of it. I feel like it lasts forever. The brush is a little bigger than some other eyeliners I’ve used, but it lasts forever and I actually like to do a more dramatic winged look. It really makes my eyes pop, which I appreciate because I feel it makes me look that much less tired.
BB Cream With SPF
Okay, so this is where I splurge. My BB Cream is kind of AMAZING! The skin is your the largest organ, and the better you take care of it, the better it will be to you later in life ;). Just saying. My BB Cream isn’t even in the same realm of skincare, so it’s called a Tinted Treatment Moisturizer, and the one I use retails for $70. I know, you’re probably shaking your head right now. But seriously? It’s so worth it. The smell, the feel, the texture, the coverage with a hint of SPF. It works great with my combination skin. I don’t wear foundation all the time, so the bottle doesn’t get used very quickly. I’d say this lasts me about 6+ months. You only need a little, and it’s best of blend it really well with a beauty blender.
^See above! 🙂 Beauty blenders are the shizzzzzzzzzzz. I love mine – it’s like a perfectly shaped teardrop makeup sponge that blends everything in evenly. And it takes no time at all, which is great for this busy mom.
Okay, just being honest here. But being a mom stinks. Literally. During pregnancy, and even after birth, your hormones go haywire – and you don’t always come out smelling like a rose. I’ve gone through multiple deodorants but haven’t found a single brand to take care of that onion I was stashing under my pits. Buuuuut this deodorant is freaking awesome. I smell like flowers and essential oils!
Makeup remover is essential to taking care of your skin the right way. Leaving your makeup on your face leads to advanced aging, clogging your pores, etc. This one is my fav, and works great with removing stubborn eye makeup – it’s also really moisturizing.
I love this face brush – incredible! To be completely honest, I haven’t been the kindest to my skin over the last few years. I have broken one of the top skincare commandments: washing my face everyday. I’ve even gone as far as to wear my makeup for three days straight. But if I want to keep my skin in its best shape (clean of free radicals, makeup, and looking as young as I can help), I need to step it up and clean my skin. My Clarisonic Mia 2 face brush takes care of my skin in a way that my fingers making soapy circles just can’t!
So I don’t do a mask every day, but I try to do one once a week. I haven’t gathered the courage to try those peel-your-face-off masks because I think the negatives outweigh the positives. I’m very happy with my wash off charcoal mask.
Ahhh, I remember the days when we didn’t have to pencil in our eyebrows. Even if your eyebrows were blonde, it was all about being au natural. Okay, so maybe there was this glitter blue eye shadow phase in the 2000’s we all went through…thankfully, those days are over. Now, it’s all about contouring your face and penciling in those brows. I really love to pencil in my brows because they are indeed blonde, and from really far away you’d never be able to guess that I even had any. If you’ve never googled ‘celebrities without eyebrows’, you need to do it ASAP. It’s hilarious, they look like aliens from another planet. That’s how I feel I look without my eyebrow pencil these days. I used to splurge on my pencil (upwards of $21 for a skinny stick of product and a spooly brush from Anastasia Beverly Hills), but I’ve since found a great dupe in NYX Micro Pencil! I’ve found that the lightest shade (Taupe) is dark enough for me.
24k Eye Elixir
All those sleepless nights and days of teething are behind me, but the circles under my eyes and fine lines haven’t heard that it’s time to close up shop and move on to the next mama. I looooove this eye elixir from Pixi. It contains peptides to plump up your fine lines (um, thank you!), and antioxidants to battle free radicals. Yes, please! I get a little extra bounce in my step on the days I use it.
